    Default Feeding barramundi

Hey all, was wondering if anyone knows/can help.

I have had 3 barramundi now for about 2 months and they are growing really fast (awesome). they are about 12cm in length, is it ok to keep feeding them pellets? and what should i keep the water temp at?
any other suggestions about keeping barramundi would be greatly appreciated!

Also, can highly recommend keeping barramundi, they are awesome fish during feeding time!

    thanks

awesome, there's no problem with keeping them on pellets as they have all the nutrients and protein the fish will need for growing.I kept mine on pellets until i couldn't buy the large ones anymore, they are now eating full pilchards.in regards to water temp anywhere between 22 and 32,but the higher the temp the higher their metabolism(more food, more poop, more ammonia)i agree with you, they are great to keep as pets.the more you put your hands in the tank the more they interact with you,i can comfort lift my fish out of the water without a struggle.they do attack fingers now and then!if you have anymore questions just ask and i will try to help.

    leroy, thanks for the advice.

regarding the ammonium level, will this kill the fish if it gets to high? apart from cleaning the tank regularly how do i keep the ammonium level low? Does the pH have anything to do with ammonium levels.
as you can tell im a beginner with the whole set up

ps what size barra do you have and tank? how long have you had your fish for?

hey Crowyfishes, i have my 3 barra in a 6ft tank, i was lucky to get the tank, stand, huge filter and all accessories for $200. Bargain, poor blokes wife made him sell it.

im guessing ill have to move 1 or 2 of them when they get a little bigger.

i'd recommend trying to pick up a 2nd hand tank and making the stand yourself. shouldnt be to hard.

    good luck!
