Default Advise on new Electric motor.

    Hi All,

    New user here

yeah its another thread about electrics and i have searched around quite a bit

i have a 55lb water snake bowmount, ive had it for 6months probably been on 4 or 5 trips and the foot peddal had stuffed up 3 times. so now im going to sell it.

im looking for a minn kota riptide (i think) needs to be a salt water version.

i mainly and casting plastics into the banks so i dont know wether to get the auto pilot or not?

so yeah im looking into getting one in the next month or so.. is there a better time to buy like xmas sales maybe?

    Cheers,

    Karl.

regardless of how you are fishing, if you are going down the minn kota path then i cannot reccomend spending that little extra and getting the auto pilot.
I find its best when the wind is up and blowing you all over the shop, without it you will spend half you fishing time doing an irish jig on the foot pedal trying to keep the boat reasonably still so you can cast accurately.
Id definately reccomend it as after having an electric without it for 3 years once you have autopilot you will never look back

not sure that much discounting goes on with the Mk's, they are obviously popular and sell well on reputation so discounts are not often found. Best bet is to just start ringing around marine shops, tackle & camping stores etc that sell them and get the best price. CH Smith in collingwood are very good to deal with.

    cheers
    Jules
