Hey Guys,
I've been dying to get this report up and I finally have. This is certainly the most successful trip I've had and I can't possibly see myself matching it for a very long time if ever. There weren't any fish of size just the number, how I was catching them, the conditions of the water and some of the things that I seen will make this a memory impossible to forget.

This isn't a step by step report like I'd normally do, but more of a recount on the techniques, tactics, telling of some of the great things that went on with a bit of a storyline added to explain it a bit more.

Here's a teaser pic which would have to be one of my favourite pics I've ever taken.

And the report, pictures and a video can be found following this link: A Day I'll Never Forget

I really hope you guys can enjoy reading it or even having a browse through. I certainly enjoyed doing it!

Cheers, Joe.

I live in Victoria and wondering about going fishing of Portland to try and catch a Tuna.
Interested in peoples good experiences with charter boats or is there people looking for a crew on their boats.
I have bought a small boat myself but still learning and would be good to go out with more experienced people.

Hi guys,
Today we took the kids out for abit of fun. We went to the 4th crossing of Summer Hill Creek (for those who know Orange). There were 2 other blokes doing some fishing out there, looked like they had no luck. We fished for a while, with no luck as well. Anyway, beautiful little creek and a fun afternoon.
I would love to hear from others in Orange, feel free to get in contact.

I recently purchased a boat with flush mounted lowrance x51 sounder and garmin gps 72h (handheld) hard wired with mounting bracket. I am keen to upgrade to a combo unit and after reading numerous threads on similar topics have virtually decided on a lowrance hds 5 combo. In the future the idea of running two combos, one as sounder/one as plotter, appeals to me (for extra backup if one fails) for not a lot more outlay. The x51's transducer is an airmar inhull style one with the rubber visible under the hull. My queries are:
1. Can this transducer be connected to the hds?
2. What are fellow boater/fisher opinions on flush mounting versus gimbal mounting? The flush mounted looks smart, but I like the idea of removing the gimbal mounted when not in use.
Thanks in advance.
