I sure will. This time of year it is going to be hard. But, if anything, the lack of strikes makes me explore more as I tend to keep moving. Come summer I hope to know my way around a little :).

that was definately the best day of weather ive seen since the end of summer or autum. still that makes maybe four or five fishless sessions out there for me and no upsize on my river PB yet. mind you in saying that i did loose a big one about five weeks ago due to a *ahem* technical difficulty!
keep up the persistence... it always pays off

Heres one from a month or so ago, we did a good 9 hours before my cousin landed his first ever yella which made the long day well worth it.

It was a cracking day out there

The next day I went out to tuggers ( which is on the vid)with my nephew who also landed his first ever native. He droppped a HUGE yella a few minutes before this one, would have been high 50's, but he learnt that it isnt a race to get them in and slowed up on the second one.

I think they both have the bug now which is good to see. And i finally got a native in my tinny at googong, didnt break the duck for me tho as I did another long day out there with Mark P for a donut, I wont mentioned Marks Cod he dropped

I've eaten more doughnuts out there than Chief Wigham!

It is very very very tough going in Googong at the moment. We have gone 9 Native less trips so far this winter, mainly because of the windy crappy weather i believe. Hopefully we get consecutive calms days and we get onto a few, but that is winter Cod fishing for you !

Have come across some amazing wildlife and had a ball with it. Best place in Canberra to have a fishless day thats for sure.

Just keep plugging away it will happen.

    Hi all,

Googong as said above has had a below par native season this winter but those long hard COLD days can certainly pay off !!!

Many people give up in the cold but keep on persisting through that cold weather and if you hook up Googong will usually reward you with a BIG smile that you will have for a long time. Just like this beauty we landed today before the wind really settled in.

Get in and have a crack before we have to put the big lures away at the end of the month as the Cod season will be closed until December.

    Awesome fish mate!

I was shocked to work out yesterday that I won't have a chance to fish Googong again until the closed season ends. Every weekend is booked solid until mid October.
