Default Family Fishing Comp Mildura - I'd like to win

    G'day Fisho's,

First time for me, so go easy ;)

Every year my family/friends head up to Mildura, jump on a houseboat for over a week, drink, eat, sleep, wakeboard.. but most of all, WE FISH.

We fish so often that the fishing boat is on a roster system from 5am every day. Probably goes through more juice than the houseboat and ski boat combined...

We pair up in teams and fight it out for the entire week with our own little fishing comp.. whole comp is based on a points system with the allmighty MC at the top of the list!

Last year, the fiance and myself managed to win it. We'd like to ensure 'TEAM TACKLEBOX' - (yep thats right, before I had even heard about this site, we even got a couple of T-shirts made up) WIN AGAIN.

I believe I've got the rod/reel combo's I'm needing, however as we do quite a bit of saltwater, any advice on lures, line strengths, bait, tackle at that or any section of the murray will be highly appreciated! Main species we'll be chasing will be all the regular natives, more points for MC's and Yella's.

The comp is great, with everyone getting the rules (all 20+ of them) handed to them at the start of the week, probably the most enjoyable fishing I'll ever experience.

Anyone with local knowledge please respond!

I understand there is quite a bit of info on the site already and I'm searching vigerously...

P.S - wouldnt be surprised if Dad has joined this also and realised that his son just posted this up..

lures get your self some spinnerbaits 5/8 oz any color cast towards snags, logs, fallen trees if fishing during day cast under tree growth that hang over water eg. willow trees and shady areas get some oargee plows and troll the channels.stump jumpers i prefer lures sizes 75ml-100ml . baits i would use scrub worms bait up a hook with five or six worms really loading up the hook get your self a shrimp net catch yourself some live shrimp load the hook up with 3/4 shrimp . and get some bardigrubs
