Nice pics again Dicko. Interesting to see you use a snap swivel on the hardbody though. I thought and have always been told that Trout are such spooky fish that things like snaps would put them right off. Didnt seem to bother that fish though! I often wonder if fly guys go a bit overboard with tippet sizes etc. when you see things like that.
Cheers,
Sean.
Those fish better give thier souls to god, because thier ass is mine !....- Mel Krieger (RIP).
Its OK to eat fish, cause they dont have any feelings - K. Cobain
Thanx boys !
We got 6 Pedder fish in the boat and kept 5 for weigh in fish tomorrow .
We got there a little late and then we were blown off the water after 5 hours of fishing .
Tomorrow should be a better day and hopefully we bag out (12 each) and have a crack at winning the day :D
No pics but tomorrow will be different with some better weather .
No worries with snaps ,anti kinks ,swivels ,etc .
They more zero in on the offering !
Most things attract trout :)
The trout can be spooky but more in the way of peoples pressence .
Thats where stalking and stream craft have to be learn't .
Tippet sizes are not a big factor when plastic/spin fishing but are major when fly fishing for many reasons !
I use 8lb and 12lb mono on the plastic/spin rods and it makes no difference to the fish .
I know Tasmanian's who have the same success on the spin rod with 20lb line .
8-12lb here is very sporting :)
Dry fly fishing requires presentation of small flies and they leave foot prints on top of the water as does the fly .
Light tippets will present alot more natural on drift and foot prints/silouhettes ,etc so they are a must to the fly guys .
Also smaller diameter lines will sink faster when nymphing .Very important :)
Hope that helps .

Hi Dave, this is a great thread you have got going here, along with some awesome pic's,your input of information has been second to none for anyone that wish's to
do some trout fishing,i feel that this thread could be well worth being made a sticky thread, regards Murph....
..
Thanx Murph !
Got a few more today (8) with the best at 2lb 6oz on the digi scales .
Missed the cut off for the weigh in today so he will be weighed officially tomorrow .
Most people struggled today with a fair few fishless .
Some only with one or two .
We are not in it to win but mainly to contribute to the Maydena clubs overall total fish .
There is an inter-club challenge running in cojuction with the main comp which has the local pride on the line :)
Also the main prize is a boat and all entrants go in the raffle !
All 205 of them so the odds are pretty good :)
Woo Hoo !!
You never know ,
Dicko ...
looks better then 2lb 6. the boat would be awsome and again nice fish
