Wharf, vertically jigging blades is well worth a shot. Just go to any standing timber, drop the blade down to the bottom and then lift it a foot off of it.
All you need to do then is jig the lure, but make sure you put in a 15-20 second pause.
I find that most of my strikes come on the pause. If they're on the chew when you're fishing there then hold on. I nearly lost my rod the first time it happened to me, because I wasn't paying any attention to what I was doing.
The best hole to attach the blade to is the foremost hole, it gives the best action for jigging.
You can't go past the 1/2 ounce TT switchblades for this. In the river the best colour by far is gold or silver.
Haven't bothered trying any other colours because I've caught heaps of fish on these two.

    Good luck mate.

Yeah that silver is still in there too, gee it went off, hit 2 other rods before it hooked up on mine and then just peeled line like nothing else. It certainly is one of my favourite spots.
Like Skipzx eluded to hang on to your rods... My first yella I caught there several years ago deadset just, bang! I thought it (the rod) was going in the drink! It went around 14lb and was 585mm (released) I was hooked on the joint from then on.
