Wharf, vertically jigging blades is well worth a shot. Just go to any standing timber, drop the blade down to the bottom and then lift it a foot off of it.
All you need to do then is jig the lure, but make sure you put in a 15-20 second pause.
I find that most of my strikes come on the pause. If they're on the chew when you're fishing there then hold on. I nearly lost my rod the first time it happened to me, because I wasn't paying any attention to what I was doing.
The best hole to attach the blade to is the foremost hole, it gives the best action for jigging.
You can't go past the 1/2 ounce TT switchblades for this. In the river the best colour by far is gold or silver.
Haven't bothered trying any other colours because I've caught heaps of fish on these two.
