There's a show on ABC called media watch and they do stories on big things in the media but also funny and sad ones like these.
Maybe we should send it in :P
Credibility means so much when putting yourself and your craft out in the public forum and even more so when you are part of the media.
Very poor form if this is all true.
I have noticed that a number of people will photoshop their picies before they pot to a site as their spot is a "secret spot" o whatever their reaon is.
Am not a fan myself, but I think keeping your spots Secret is still OK, my logic is this.
* if you want to put your piccies up on the web then dont blotch the background for fear of someone else guessing the spot and even worse- someone knowing the spot and advertising it to everyone
* Stay true to your word- if you tell someone the name of the suburb then expect it is going to get found out at some time or another
* dont post piccies of you with other anglers fish (BIG NO NO!!!!)
* dont give false info on spots and say you were "here" when in reality you were really "there"... (another BIG NO NO!!!)
My solution to the above is this:
* Take different sets of piccies, one for yourself ith the spot and another that is not quite NOT SO OBVIOUS
* If someone asks where you got the fish I am all up for 2 things- if they are genuine take them there personally or tell the the 'burb and let them figure it out themselves (the best part of fishing is locating your own spots and then getting nice fish from there and making your own local place)
* dont be the kind of person who delves into notoriety and if you dont get fish- then either post you didnt get anything or dont post at all...
* False info will only lad to trouble and eventually you will get caught out- especially if someone knows your boat name or the location where you fish.
Just my personal take on the ideaology of the "Hall of Shame"- I think its a great idea guys
Cheers

i totally agree, but ease up on the language, youngens read this forum aswell.
Its number 9 on the forum rules "Please keep your language clean and decent. This include personal inflammatory language as well as obscenities"
makes the forum one that the whole family can enjoy
cheers

I remember from when I lived in Brissy that the author of the article/ bloke in dodgy photo was a fairly well respected local fisho. He used to do lectures on Moreton Bay fishing at the Brissy Boating and Fishing Show. I went and had a listen to him a couple of times and he was really good, I guess he must have had a slow week of news and decided to spice up his report with a big porky pie!!

yerh he knows what he is talking about in regards to moreton bay but this wasnt called for but even with the shame and what credibility he has left , he still writes for the same magazine even after he quit ? whats going on there ?
