Supercheap auto used to have a $10 fishing kit.Had everything you need, except a decent reel. The telescopic rod was a bloody beauty.I used one of my shakespeare threadlines on it loaded with 8 pound fireline.Had no problems casting no2 celtas 25m.

soft plastics do work well on redfin.Get some berkley flick bait pro in evil minnow colour.I think they are70mm long.

Went to lake burley griffin today.
    Summary:
    Spent 4 hours.
1 hour on redfin. Totally nothing. No bites nothing at all. Using berkley powerpack, their 2 inch grub with a jig hook. Keep tangling up the weeds. Tried poltergeist 50 by halco, too much weed collecting. Was fishing at the mouth of sullivan's creek near anu boat club.

2 hours on carp. 1 hour in the day with the sun up high, nothing. 1 hour in the evening when it was darker, got several bites(felt a hard pull but nothing afterwards, reeled it up and no more bait(corn), thought it was the hook problem) but got 2 fish hooked. 1 was huge, lots of splashing, the drag keep giving up line so fast(even adjusted it to tighten yet it didn't help, it just kept pulling) then I tried to stop the reel with my hand and SNAP, my 5.5kg 12lb line snapped(still a noob), but the next one was a smaller carp, didn't put much of a fight. Around 35 centimeters. Here is a picture with my camera phone.

    Hi mate
Check out the forum guidelines for help on downsizing your pics but a little tip is to email the pics to yourself(make my pics smaller/yes) and save them from there in a smaller file size.Keep perservering with the s/ps it will pay off.
    Cheers

Oh, I'm sorry I thought the forum downsizes the pics so I thought it was ok. Will use paint to shrink it now.

    Update:
Carp aren't as stupid as they look. They keep cleaning up my hook without getting hooked. Met an online chat mate from youtube today, such coincidence, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VoY8x0xX_lM, he thought me some carp stuff and gave me some hooks(apparently the hooks i use suck, well maybe since the carp could eat the corn without getting hooked) and some homemade some weights(the weights I use are too light, couldn't cast far enough). 2 hours on redfin at the black mountain peninsular, I think my technique suck.....no bites no nothing, and I can't cast far enough. Crap. will keep trying tomorrow.
