Default Through The Gate To Narrabeen Lake

    gate.jpgHi All
Every time I pass through the gate to my little fishing spot on Sth Creek I wonder what will be in store for me and what events will occur. As i said in another link I got lost in there at night on a new moon where the torch failed, and wandered around in the bush for hours.
These rays are a nuisance thinking you've finally got that nice Jewie on and you get the tell tale signs ,which leads to a battle with light bream gear. The Long Toms are spectacular in there breaches and runs as well..The odd flatties keep popping up when you least expect cause theres so much bait fish activity going on.The place comes to life after sundown.

Tried a couple of Joffas vibe lures last night over the weed beds and caught a few 25cm bream in an area just off the 5th at Cromer!Got several heavier strikes but to no avail.
Youv'e got to keep on the move to locate them,as they school in the cover of darkness.
Took the old Shimano 7ft backbone elite and a couple of Daiwa strikeforce 802s.
Now I don't know if any ones used one but they are nowhere near as good, as a knockabout estuary rod!Ther'es bits and pieces fallin' off them already!
Passed another water dragon heading over the weir as he scurried to safety and headed back before darkness ,with a fully charged lantern this time!

    Hi There.
Well I hadn't been back to my little spot for quite some time and needed a good dose of mother nature ,so armed with an s/p outfit and bait rig rod ,down the track I headed ,back to where it all began many years ago.Out of the woods I waded through the shallows disturbing bait schools of mullet in my wake. It's always hit and miss but the area is very picturesque you wouldn't believe it lays closely to major urban areas.
My bait rig rod is a Shimano Eclipse 7ft6 coupled with Tierra 2500 spin reel ,nice and sensitive, placed in a rocket launcher whilst I flick s/ps on Daiwa 7ft procaster ,1500 Tierra spin.Fresh prawns and the ever faithfull atomic grubs,Squidgees and Berkley grubs.
Was hopping for a nice lizard but only small bream seemed to be about. They say It's a bonus if you catch fish, enjoy the journey etc but this is one area you can definately agree with that time worn saying.

Do you go near the caravan park thats where I hear the big Flatties are near the 4knot marker.
I was planning a session there in the next week or 2, I'll send ya a PM when I am heading up that way

    Tight lines

Great scenery there Chicka! Cracking spot mate :P
I am not against golf, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering fishing :P

hey chicka with that bream in the photo next to the yaks, is that a pak rat (or rat pak, cant quite remember the name), that you have caught it on??
Think of it this way, 3 day camping trip you either catch a 100cm cod or 100 average sized cod. What would you rather brag about??
