@ leigh you had an excellent point about taking the rd in the shower. i do it it mnakes a massive difference.

@ squidgy i made that same point earlier about that annoying guide wire thing. and im the same as you i dont like line hanging everywhere on my rds. i reel it back to the spool as i usually chuck my swivel hook and leader every session and strip off like 5 metres of line for freshness.

HI I have been using a daiwa interline in the salt for a while now paired with a calcutta 100 and haven't had an issues regarding lack of casting distance. The no.1 thing I love about them is the lack of tip wrap - sure some rods come with guides designed not to catch on the line but the interlines dont even have tip guides which is so much better imo. The no.1 thing I hate about them is having to use the line threader to feed the line up the rod - I 'm the kind of person who doesn't like to leave rods rigged with leaders around the home and prefers to cut everything off after a session and wind line back through the guides and onto the reel. I just can't do this with the interlines though because I know its a pain in the arse to re-thread the line again. As for use in the salt I haven't had any issues and to be honest all I ever do is give the rod a hose after each session like I do to all my rods but the only special treatment my interline gets is that I put the high pressure thingy on the end of the hose and aim it down the centre of the rod. Then all I do is stand it up vertical and leave it to dry before I take it back inside to store it. Would I buy another one? - No I wouldn't and I didn't even buy the one I'm currently using as it was a gift haha. Plenty of other rods out there I'd take before an interline, but the interline still is very nice to use.

when you say you hate having to thread the wire up the rod do you mean you are threding the wire up from the bottom and not down from the tip ?

the best thing about these rods is that you basically wind on your leader and leave the obligatory 6 inches of line from the tip to lure for great casting technique....and not damage the knot on a guide or get a wind knot/guide wrap on the cast. Im nearly sold on them but baulked at the price of the TMZ.

I would be interested in hearing other peoples reviews or opinions aboout these rods.
