i was reading through the Handy Fishing Tips magazine issue 22. and i came across a review of the 6ft 3 piece ugly stick travel rod i had refered to earlier. and it was saying that he was using this 2-4 kg rod instead of his expensive graphite rod. he was catching snapper and kingsish to 84cm on it.

Is it graphite or fibreglass? I thought ugly sticks were fibreglass rods, I'd check it out before you buy mate!
Fibreglass will be rubbish for lure casting, too sloppy lol

Big W has a cheapo telescopic in a neat hard case box that doubles as the storage for the rod and a tackle box. I think it's only $25 probably cheap and nasty but for that price u could just leave on in the boot of the car for an opportune moment.
