    Anyone on here going?
Son was nagging me all holidays to go fishing, but due to specialist apps etc we were stuck at home, so going to Nyngan on the 9th for the Carp Muster :)
Anyone else going? We are staying at the riverside caravan park.

Our son and I did a bit of coarse fishing a long, long , long time ago, I would say we caught more Carp on Maggots than any other bait. We used Turkish coffee and bread crumbs for burley, it really got them going

I bake dough onto the shaft of hooks, 3 recipes, one cheese, one tuna (cat food) and one plain with a bit of chicken salt in it :)
Last one I caught on a plain thin strip of chicken, looked like a worm :)

I soak it overnight in food dye and vanilla essence. Does it make any difference...who knows! Do I care...hell no! But as I mentioned, I think a few black kernels do help in if the water is dirty.

Been trying to catch this bugger from our local creek for years now, he comes up to say hello and just swims around anything we use as bait, even used normal corn, but nope. So going to try the coloured corn next weekend before the carp comp starts the following weekend :)

Colored corn may not be the answer. The water looks rather good. What breaking strain line do you use? I would hazard a guess that if you use heavy line the carp will see it. It is a fine balance of using light line to improve chances of a hookup versus the risk of losing the fish after the hook up.
    cheers

I have 6kg braided line on one rod, the other is mono 4kg I think.
They have been sitting for a bit, so going to refill spool this week
