Is anyone going to the Cod opening? If so good luck, and keep safe. Looking forward to reading some good posts.

No Kev, but I did see not far from me a Cod caught this morning from a boat trolling. It looked a legal size but the woman did the right thing and put it carefully back into the lake. How did I go from the shore, well from about six until nine not a bite.
    Cheers Wally

I will get out at some point. If not tomorrow for a short session, sometime over the next week. The thing I am looking forward to the most is the 'Codference' which will be held in Shepparton Sunday week.
    cheers
    Jim

But a mate is having another try to get me on the water this week if the weather holds. We've had lots of windy days.

I hope the wind drops so you can get out and have a great day.

All I managed to do for cod opening weekend was an unarmed recon to a local spot that I haven't fished for a few years. I liked what I saw!

Why unarmed. That's like going without my camera. Shouldn't do it.

As I suspected there were people there. I will revisit it on a weekday. I just wanted to check access. The best thing is I can park my car under a bridge and fish prior to and immediately after violent storms. Native fish apparently get very active during this period and in this location both myself and my car will be safe whilst I haul in cod after cod!
    Cheers

Should we request a temporary increase in daily bag limits for you Jim.
Would 25 over 75cm be enough?

I returned on Friday for a short surface session. I tried a Mantis surface lure with no luck. It doesn't take long when I am on my feet before things start to ache. Despite the poor result, I will return as the water does look good. I have also been inspired by the 'codference' today.
    Cheers

The important bit Jim is making the effort to get out there. That's good stuff. Sad about the fish though. Noel

Looks like I have mastered the art of inserting pics thanks to Kev. This is where I tried for a brief period as I mentioned above.
