The bar at lakes entrance this morning ......
Are they just the channel markers Tac or is it bioluminescence?
With a light show like that, you would almost break out into some disco dancing.
The white lights are 3 trawlers coming back the red and green are the port and starboard on the end of the groynes ......
The nav' lights were easy. The whites could have been anything. Are they '360' mast heads Tack or mooring lights?
Noel they are on the mast but pointing forward and bloody bright on a clear night they shine over a k and light up the hole bar which is 400 odd yards past the groynes ......
Just found a photo. I took a week or so ago of one coming in The Entrance the lights are so right. You just about need sunscreen if you're on the deck.
After going past those channel lights I think I would run into the bank because I would have no night vision they are so bright!
We lived in Orbost years ago and got to know Lakes rather well. My upholstery workshop had a client base there too.
Your bar always had a reputation as being 'not the safest bar on the coast' to put it mildly. Have heard no comments for years. Has it been improved dramatically? I recall years ago a large trawler going base over apex while coming in. Think a couple died but unsure. There was a dredge permanently in the entrance pumping sand away. Was it the April Hamer?
