That's an angry looking fire Tac and looks like it's got a nor-wester pushing it. Is that grassland or some type of cropping country in the foreground of the pic taken from your mate's place?

How is it there today Tac? Hope all is well. In the future, you will look back at this and wonder how the hell you got through the event with all the associated stress.
    Cheers

My mates farm has several spot fires burning now , it looks like he will get a few showers in the next hour .

I was listening on the radio last night I have UHF and 2 m I'm a HAM radio operator and to hear what was going on when Clifton Creek went up they lost several houses out there it was shocking poor buggers

Don't misinterpret what I say. At least at Bairnsdale there seems to be some blue sky. What is shown at the Bemm is more like what we have/had as we are now in Queanbeyan. Our area hasn't seen the sun for days. We drove 330km Wednesday and never saw the sun because of smoke. Most nights it's almost dark by 7.00pm. It doesn't matter where the fires are-our hearts go out to all those affected. It's a sad and terrifying time for many.

Son tells us smoke has brought visibility down to only fifty metres here in Queanbeyan recently and it comes from down near our place. The worst is over for us, at least for now. Future flair ups are not only possible but expected.
Hoping to make a move to Tuross tomorrow. They've had to take river water into the supply so it all must be boiled until further notice.
Much of the posted information on this subject can be a bit depressing.
While I do it, along with others, it's hard to hit the 'like' button as it almost seems contradictory. I don't like liking it really. That's only my feelings, not the posts. They are important posts and make this site what it is. A good communication base.
