am new to the area and have heard it is possible to launch a boat off the beach at Killarney, near Warrnambool. if so how safe is it out there and are any conditions more favourable than others?

g,day roy . turn left just before the killarney caravan park/ ie footy ground. take the next rd to your right, that takes you to the beach boat ramp. you can drag a small tiny down or a 4x4 makes it easy. only good for small boats there just in around the reefs , just watch out its all a bit shallow. you can navagate out to sea from here but its a bit of a trick, follow a local out the first time. if you have a bigger boat head straight to portfairy and launch in the moyne river and head straight out the mouth, cheers and good luck fishjam.
