Such a lovely day, pool immaculate, lawns mowed. Shot a hare in the vegetable garden earlier.
Now one more thing to do throw a yabby net in the dam, will check at about 3.30pm grab some Scrub Worms’s then 10 mins lines will be in the Lake and my fishing mates will join me one Pelican hoping for a catch. Three Magpies hoping for a worm or two. Actually there is usually two Pelicans but one must be looking after chicks.

Sounds good Wally. Do you eat the hare - I tried it once when I was young and didn't like it, but I guess if you chuck enough curry powder in the pot you could eat anything.

I'm with you Jeff on all counts there. Tried it twice; first and last times.
The thought of the old 'jugged hare' (read as guts left in until it goes green) put me off that idea for life.
have shot many but these days believe they are rather endangered and don't do much damage either. I like them as animals.
Did you get a fish Wally?

No I don’t eat hares the dark meat puts me off and the strong flavour, so the dog wins there a couple of Carp so the Pelican wins.

I don't mind a hare if cooked correctly, I ocaisionlly bought one home and mum would soak it in vinegar for a day or so cant remember how it was cooked but allright to eat, much better than rabbit i got over rabbit as a kid. the old man said they used to go hunting in scotland and if they got a hare they would wrap it in clay and throw it in the fire and it was delicious. I seen a recipe for hare on a Netflix program called meateater, called hare Sardinia looks good I might try it one day.
Good hunting , fishing and cooking the catch show makes you feel like going hunting and fishing and eating lots of meat.
I couldn't open the attachments Wally.

I can't think of too many better ways to spend a lovely day than throwing a line in the water, hanging out with some good mates (I love maggies) and watching the world go by. And your strike rate seems pretty good too. I'm most envious. :)

Tim, I know the more you fish the higher that strike rate gets. I guess it's like my pet belief that if you're out there often enough, it become inevitable that you'll get the big fish others only dream of. That's the way it was with me anyway.

Thanks Noel; getting out is something we certainly need to do more of. I'm hopeful that we'll achieve more hours on the water in the new year - time will tell. There's no end of annoying distractions and responsibilities which seem to manage to get in the way.
