One of the local tackle stores had a stocktake sale so I saddled up and did what I had to do...take stock!
All stock under $100 was 30% off. Bassman spinerbaits were originally $23 (for these ones anyway...there are cheaper types) so the price came back to about $16 each.
Bassman 40.jpg These Rapala lures were $10 each normal price which is cheap so I didn't mind spending $7!
Rapala 35.jpg I don't know why but this week I decided I needed one of these Chan Wake lures that was in the local Compleat Angler store. The other store which was having the sale did not have any of these so I got one from CA at only a couple dollars discount...so it was just over $30. I can handle that for shallow running lures that are less likely to snag.
    Wake 40.jpg That's all folks!!!!
    cheers

    Hello fellow big spenders,

I was in Aldi last night to buy some tea, but picked up a Shakespeare Navigator 702 SPM rod/reel combo for $20 instead!

Expect to see it laying in front of huge piles of dead Carp this summer!

Not sure if it will be more of an urban or rural outfit at this stage, but I'm sure it will excel whatever its environment.

    CC
    Putting in a big pre-season!

Me thinks this is officially the most expensive lure I have ever purchased! On saying that, I did get it for the bargain price of $84! Going by the rate that I am starting to use the new sh!t that I have, this lure should get a run for cod opening...2021!

I can see why it's so expensive, that eye looks like it could be a sapphire.

Finally managed to get a hold of some of the Serge Prawno goodness today, I chose the small in Clear X 2 and 1 X orange tip - pickup on weekend if all goes to plan
    YYYEEEWWW!!!

PS- you guys gotta get on to these lures they are true flattie, bream and 'ting slayers and the best part is they are 100% Aussie made- they also do shallow and deep divers and the same prawno with a single weighted hook which has already proven to be a winner with the locals.
Unfortunately they only have a sale every few weeks and sell out quick, and you can only find them on their facebook page and purchase by PM so keep an eye out for their announcements of sale coz come 10am they are all sold out so you get 1 hour to buy what you want.

I took the bride to Rockhampton today for a specialist appointment, so I figured to pass time I will visit my own specialist at Barra Jacks Tackle Shop with the idea in my head that I will look at what's on offer in 3000 size spin reels. The first reel I spotted in the cabinet was a Shimano Engetsu 100PG baitcaster for only $169 - gotta have that, says I. Bugger the 3000 spin reel, I can live without one....for a short time.

    Engetsu.jpg

Loaded it up with 15lb Power Pro and I've got a 5'10' 3-5kg Shimano Cranx Nano rod that will be the perfect stick for the Engetsu….. a nice light BC outfit for flicking lures in the 5-7g range from the kayak.

That was a great price! Do you know what it was normally?

Also, did you check out the spin reels for your future buy?

RRP on the Engetsu is $399.95, Jim. A few outlets have got them for $249, but not as low as $169. I would have preferred an Alderbaran, just couldn't track down a RH model, plenty of left handers out there.

I might have to sell some of my gemstones before I buy another spin reel, got my sights set on a Stella.....just a pie in the sky at the moment, a bit like the Megabass Pagani rod that I want. A man's gotta have a target

Not to be outdone by Team Engetsu, I have splashed some cash over the last month...strangely whilst I have done f#$% all fishing! The 'biggest' buy was a couple 'Snyder Glas' rods...I blame Wally for these. He asked for feedback regarding rods to suit Alveys and I revisited the site!
    http://www.wilsonfishing.com/Products/Rods/Snyder-Glas-Rods/Contessa
I got the medium mount ones as opposed to the low mount which are made to suit Alveys. These f***ers are 9 foot long! I will use them for fishing the banks of impoundments....fishing shallows. I have 2 Shimano Baitrunner D's sitting in a local tackle store waiting to be picked up.
    rods.JPG
Apparently these Megabass Vatalion lures are good on cod...so I got some smaller ones for yellas too!

    Vattalion small.JPG
When I purchased my pink NZ Night Crawler, I wanted a darker one as well which finally arrived.
    NZ Crawler.JPG
Despite clearly overpowering Team Energysu, I thought I would push on! Livetarget Crawfish and Baitball spinnerbait.
    Baitball .JPG
    livetarget craw.JPG
But wait, there's more! As I went into a tackle store in a nearby town for the first time, I felt compelled to buy something. I have used these lures a bit before with some luck to have faith in them. I do find the hooks have to be changed over tho.
    indywidually.JPG
And as you can see, the lures have been indywidually tested!

The only things now I have to pick up is the two baitrunners. Looking forward to using this stuff!
    cheers

Not expecting Team Shitsu to recover from this!

Damn, there's no way that I can beat a spending binge like that - methinks I will just slink back into the corner of the shed and sulk for a week or two. :(

What is the difference between an urban and rural outfit (your rod purchase) CC?
FFS...have you lost your mind?!!!! I put this up here to throw out the challenge and get you motivated and you just roll over!!!
No probs! But when cod season opens. I will use one at the time. I have dibs on the dark one but at 3 ounces...you may want to buy another rod before then! I couldn't care less if you lose it (the lure)! I have that much sh!t it will be a pleasure to see it being used...lost, whatever by anyone! Just don't catch a fkn fish on it...then I will be pi55ed off!

I want to give the long rods a go a Waranga basin before the water starts dropping...if it hasn't already. Wally from Bargearse (spelt something like that) will also feel the wrath of them when we meet up at Lake Nillahoweveritisspelt.
    cheers
    Team Bender
Slightly disappointed with Team Energetic and contemplating who will feel the wrath of all my new sh!t!

Was that at Harriman's Point? When I have gone I reverse down the boat ramp (late arvo when no boats are likely to use it) or if the low water ramp is showing, I go down there where there is room to turn.
    Cheers

Uses boat ramps without the boat!
